Is Facebook Advertising Worth It? A Different Perspective
I have used Facebook ads quite a bit…
But not looking for sales or recruits straight off so much as looking
for the branding and event promotion effect.
On Facebook in the home business community it is exceptionally easy
to target who see’s the ads and thus exposing you to practically EVERYBODY who is in the market.
By having a lot of impressions of your picture predisposes people to notice EVERYTHING you post and therefore ups the response to your events. Of course having more attendees to webinars and conference calls gives you more closes for the event and BOOM…
One can sign a TON of people all in one fail swoop as opposed to one by one.
Not sure if you guys are familiar with the reticular activating system of a person’s mind.
Here’s a link to explain it:
http://www.make-your-goals-happen.com/reticular-activating-system.html
When you activate people to notice you with an ad they are much more likely to then respond to your communication on Facebook.
You can not advertise like this ANYWHERE else and it can make a HUGE difference in how a prospect sees and perceives you for literally just a few bucks a day
Kinda cool if you ask me and worthwhile if you are promoting into EVENTS or capture pages that offer training and content.
The sale is a delayed one but it is a much easier one as the prospect is generally convinced of your authority within a short period of time due to the way they were processed.
Kind of a different way of looking at things but this has been extremely effective for me.

Great article Diane.
I have been considering experiments with social media advertising, and that is how I stumbled upon your blog. It is nice to know that it does seem to be helping you.
I may give it a go within the next month and see if it helps me. Thanks again for the great article.
Thanks Diane, your facebook ad method is great, I especially like the reticular activating system you mentioned, personal development peaks my interest all the time.

Thanks Diane for talking about this. There is a course that has surfaced calling Facebook better than google adwords. It’s almost $200 and of course it talks about how to use FB ads to make $. I’ve seen your ads on FB and I really value your opinion!
Lidia…
No need for a $200 course in my opinion.
I have done adwords, youtube, facebook, post vards, classifieds…the list goes on and on.
Never bought a course.
Just read the instructions and used a little COMMON SENSE!!!!
Have you ever advertised before?
Take baby steps and you will learn.
It’s not that hard
I agree with your post and with Tim as well…
At the end of the day, it’s all about connecting and building relationships! And whether you are exposing people to you via a cap page, blog, an event etc with an ad… it’s all about generating leads and connecting and building relationships with those leads will ultimately will lead to conversions anyway! But, if not, then at least you made a connection!
Hey Lady Love…
Long time no see!
Great to have you hear and I SO agree.
All about connections.
Connect…capture them…
Communicate and see if you have what the person needs.
Not a big deal at all
Very interesting point, Diane. I am currently looking into starting advertising on FB and trying to decide if it is worth it. Your article made a lot of sense.
Best,
Ana/YourNetBiz
Hi Ana…
Glad it helped.
Oh yes Diane you couldn’t be more on the money, literally! To be honest I use my ugly mug for most of my ads even if it isn’t that relevant to the promotion or offer. After all people rather see my funky smile than some image obviously trying to entice them to “click”. At the end of the day Facebook provides something much more powerful than an advertisement.. a simple but powerful connection.
Is that THE Tim Atkinson???
So happy to know you popped by Tim.
Thank you.
Sooner or later you and I need to have a mind melt for a few mins.
I think it could be GREAT FUN!!!
