The Push



Instead of trying to convince people you are successful so they will join you …why not just BECOME successful so they will join you.

All it takes is one PUSH and you can create a story that you can use for the rest of your career.

I made $420 my first month. I PUSHED and was not afraid to do what my trainer told me to do.

Once I made that money I had the confidence and a success story to carry me the rest of the way.

Until you PUSH (yes..like giving birth) you can not get where you want to go.

Busy work will not cut it.

SUMMARY:  Being successful in MLM or affiliate marketing takes a lot of energy.  None of us have it all the time.  Here are some suggestions for being successful even when your energy level is low.

We all get them.  Those days when we’re dragging ourselves around, dreading the next thing we have to do to manage our home business.  Particularly true for those who work in MLM.  After all, even with all the technology, it’s still a business of talking with and listening to people.

It’s comforting to know that like our business itself, we move in cycles.  There are times when our energy is sky high, especially at the beginning of  a new project.  Joining a new company, or being part of a product launch, or running a conference call…these are things that wind us up.

So naturally there is a rhythm that brings us back down to earth after a while.

I’ve spent many days conducting business in my pajamas.  And when I say business, I’m talking all the different aspects of it.  I’ve managed my autoresponder lists, ordered products, done three ways calls, even  cut an occasional video in my sleep wear.

The first thing you need to know about running your business when your energy level is low is that there are different aspects to it.  It’s perfectly fine to do the management type stuff when you don’t want to interact with people.  If you have a healthy business, there will be other stuff to do.

And it’s perfectly OK to walk away from your business for a while for a battery recharge.  I’ll take a walk around the block, or do some stretching, or listen to something wonderful, or even take in half an hour or sappy daytime television.

But the single best suggestion I have for running your business when your energy is low is this… Remember WHY you’re doing it.

There was something you wanted at the beginning.  Security, recognition, extra money for a vacation.  That thing is still alive in you.

Make it real. If you ever wrote down a statement of your goals or your dreams, take it out and look at it.

And if you didn’t, this would be a great time to make one.

So let’s just wrap this up in list form.  When your energy is low…

1. Give yourself permission to goof off for a short period of time, with a promise to come back to it soon.

2. Work on the management parts of the business…the ones that don’t need you to interact with prospects, downline or upline people.

3. Take yourself back to the reason why you started your business.  Make it big and bright.

One final thought: if your energy is low too much of the time (and you’ve rule out any medical reasons), your inner-self may be trying to tell you you’re in the wrong place, or you’re too far outside your comfort zone.  That’s the time to talk to someone you trust: a coach or mentor, and see if you’re in the right place for the right reasons.  If you’re not loving your business, it may be time to work on something new.

This piece reflects EXACTLY how I felt back in the beginning when I was HUNGRY to learn and all I kept getting from my upline team was a bunch of hype and baloney.

I didn’t want it sugar coated…I wanted it HARD CORE…

Maybe you feel like I did…

And that is why I created my EVENTS

To give it to you REAL and without HYPE.

Hard Core Or Sugar Coated…You Choose.

It’s like it was YESTERDAY…

I used to sit in those MLM meetings with such hope…such HUNGER

And they kept saying the same thing…

Talk to more people…

“It’s absolutely out of control!”

Everyone is moving up the marketing plan!!!

And yet there was NEVER an ounce of meat in those trainings…

Just hype and packaged stories that in the beginning got me all excited

But after a while I just felt like a loser and like there was something wrong with me…

Yeah I was making money but I was not getting that shiny new pin that they always told me I needed and I was just getting FRUSTRATED and I wished over and over that

Someone…ANYONE would tell me the TRUTH.

I wanted it HARD CORE..STRAIGHT UP…

Tell me what I need to do and I’ll do it!!!

And for the life of me I could not understand why they didn’t tell us…

They just kept giving us cotton candy FLUFF and a new product launch

every quarter to keep us excited.

Well today I understand that the reason they did that was that they made

MORE MONEY when they sugar coated everything.

The sales figures proved it…

Hype em up, make em cry, give em hope and they take their credit cards out…

Give em reality..show them what it takes and watch them RUN.

So why would a company or upline give the real deal if they knew it would

hurt their business???  Makes no sense..right?

Cause the ones that are hell bent and determined are gonna figure it out and

the rest are gonna fade away so might as get as much in sales from them as

you can before they go…

Yes..I know..sounds evil…but it’s not…It’s called BUSINESS…

And these guys were running BUSINESSES…as opposed to the cheering masses at the meetings who for the most part were running FANTASIES.

But me..I wanted a BUSINESS…

I was one of the ones BENT on figuring it out and that is what caused me

to start studying real marketing…

I started off with Joe Schroeder and Randy Gage and branched into Jay Abraham,

Dan Kennedy, Gary Halbert and many more.

I studied sales psychology, attraction, human triggers..

I became obsessed with direct response and bought up courses like crazy on eBay.

I consumed MASSIVE amounts of information before you could get all this free stuff on the net.

This was before YouTube…before the “free line” had been moved and before “attraction marketing” was called attraction marketing.

I wanted the TRUTH..I wanted it RAW..and I wanted it STRAIGHT…

And I got it.

Fast forward 8 years and today I work with marketers of all sorts…

Mostly home and small business owners.

I decided that as opposed to building another downline and needing to sugar coat stuff myself I wanted to help other people understand how to create successful businesses even on a shoestring budget like I had when I started out.

And true to my background I serve up my training HARD CORE.

I say it like it is and I don’t mince words.

And truthfully…I probably lose a lot of business because I do.

I suppose I hurt their feelings when I push their nose in the reality of their inactivity and excuses.

They get mad at me for saying what they NEED to hear as opposed

to what they WANT to hear…

Heck…

If I were to sugar coat it and then glaze it over….put it in an ebook or a DVD

I could sell a boatload and get some new diamonds or something (to make up for the stupid MLM pin I never got)

But I just can’t do it.

Me…I wanted it HARD CORE…

So I like to teach people like me–the ones who say PUSH ME…Give it to me STRAIGHT.

And yes…sometimes I lose a few along the way.

But in the end the reward is so rich to me as the ones that are left THRIVE.

Nature sorts…

That is what she does.

Not everyone is meant to have a successful home business.

Not everyone is meant to make six figures and above.

Not everyone is gonna do the do.

And the longer I sugar coat it is the longer it takes for them to

either learn the ropes and get to their goal or figure out that they are dumping money and to move along.

My goal is to either pull someone ALL THE WAY IN

Or push them ALL THE WAY OUT

Because the worst thing I see in this industry is families destroyed by debt incurred

during the quest for a successful business.

Purchase after purchase in the name of the fantasy while the underlying thought process stays the same is a recipe for DESTRUCTION.

I see it every day.

So I ask you…

Do you want it HARD CORE

or do you want it

SUGAR COATED

Are you willing to accept that the biggest thing you need to conquer is your own

thought process?

Are you willing to spend more time studying PEOPLE than hits, clicks and analytics?

Are you willing to THINK???

Most won’t you know…

I run classes and I pose a dilemma to the group…

An exercise…

I say…ok…here’s the situation…what do you do…

Give me three plausible solutions to the problem…

And I wait for the answers…

And there is almost always SILENCE.

Why???

Because you were taught in elementary school that there is ONE answer

And you bought into that.

And for the rest of your life you were domesticated and TRAINED not to THINK.

And as long as you can not THINK and stand on your wits a six figure home business is NOT an option for you…DONE DEAL.

It’s survival of the fittest…

Law of the Jungle out here…

That’s the TRUTH…

And in the end…

It is your environment and who you choose to study with that will make all the difference for you.

And it doesn’t need to cost an arm and a leg.

And you need to start as a freshman and work your way up.

Starting in senior classes when you are a freshman is setting yourself up for FAILURE

as is staying in a freshman class (cause your friends are there) when you are ready to MOVE UP.

Right now there is a REVOLUTION going on in the home business industry and I am sure ten years from now we will look back at 2010 as a pivotal time.

I am just not sure yet whether we will look back at it as a time of genesis or a time of

destruction…The internet has leveled the paying field for us…

Anyone can have their message EVERYWHERE in a matter of weeks…

And that thrills me and scares me at the same time as there are SO MANY people

spreading information that is just not accurate.

And this is where we come FULL CIRCLE…

Do you want it HARD CORE…

Or do you want it

SUGAR COATED?

Have you found a mentor you can actually speak to

or are you wandering the net listening to anyone with a good pitch on a video.

Are you set up to receive and run and actual business or are you wishing on a star?

Have you figured out how to work within your budget and parlay your profits or are you burying your family in debt and despair?

These are the questions I DARE to ask…

As a coach, as a teacher, as a friend….

It’s time to answer these questions and GET REAL.

It’s time to grow up.

And it’s time to make your dreams REAL.

There has never been a time like today to do it.

The question is WILL YOU?

Or will I see you as roadkill on the side of the road in 2012?

That choice is up to you my friend.

Time to decide…

And last time I’ll ask..

life shattering because we were so broke…
